Heart of Gold

This pomegranate blossom, still on the tree, is just past fertilization and bloom. After the petals fall, there is an open star that showcases the sepals and stamens. I was drawn to this image by the color of the golden stamen contrasting against the deep burgundy center surrounded by the red/orange of the sepals. All of this surrounded by the bright green leaves of the tree.
